Ladies and Gentlemen,

I am honored by the invitation of His Majesty to this excellent event and very much pleased to have the opportunity to address you shortly.

Tourism is the key to enhance people-to-people exchanges which set the basis for healthy and sustainable political and economic relations between countries.

Today, with approximately 50 million tourists per year, Türkiye ranks 3rd in the World and my hometown Antalya, ranks number one.

Yet, tourism is one of the leading sectors, contributing to the Turkish economy and the welfare of the Turkish people.

Therefore, we are ready to share our experiences with our Ugandan friends, with a view to increase both the number of tourist arrivals from abroad and the revenue you earn by tourism.

Especially with the lifting of restrictions after the pandemic, we should find ways and means to receive more tourists to our beautiful countries.

I am in Uganda since February this year and I am fascinated by the beauties of Jinja and its surroundings in particular, and Uganda in general.

I sincerely believe that Uganda has great potential to host more tourists from abroad.
In that respect, as Ambassador of Türkiye, I am more than happy to contribute to the promotion of Uganda’s beautiful sites.

Therefore, I am pleased to participate Kagulu Rock Climbing Challenge today, and share this joy with you.
